Speaking of IP rating, we will explain it later in the post but for now, let see how other smartphones are doing in the same price range of $400-$500 or 30000-40000 INR.

One more thing, many smartphone manufacturers skip the IP rating test to save costs and to maintain a reasonable price of the device. Oneplus have been doing this since Oneplus 6 release, they have said in the past that their devices are waterproof.

Nokia 7.1 Plus: No official IP rating but comes with a splash-proof coating

What is IP rating and how does it work?

The IP rating has the format of IP[Any number between 0 and 6][Any number between 0 and 8], and the two numbers represent the capability of a smartphone to survive dust and water.

For dust, A 0 means a complete dumbo smartphone, which means no protection. A 6 score means complete protection, all Samsung flagships, and iPhone come with a score of 6

For Water, A 0 means smartphone is not water-resistant at all, while a score of 8 represents you can put the device in water beyond the 1-meter depth and it will survive.
